About
Since its founding in 1895, The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra has had a close association with the world's foremost musicians. Home to the American premieres of works by Debussy, Ravel and Bartók, the CSO has had a long line of distinguished music directors including Stokowski, Reiner, and Schippers. In September 2001, Paavo Järvi, having won overwhelming praise for his concerts in the United States and Europe, became the orchestra's 12th music director. Maestro Järvi and the CSO completed a successful tour of the U.S. in April 2007.
