This statement is to all of the wonderful presenters, friends, and concert goers throughout the world who have embraced the art and humanity of Marvin Hamlisch. I wish to thank all of you for your incredible support and appreciation of Mr. Hamlisch. As Marvinís World Manager of twenty-six years, it was my privilege and honor to work with him and to have him as a dear friend. As you can read from our website, his extraordinary biography and his incredible accomplishments are unequaled. . . .
Upcoming in his career was to have been the New York Philharmonicís New Yearís Eve Gala Concert at Lincoln Centerís Avery Fisher Hall. This extraordinary concert was to have been televised live throughout the United States and Canada on PBS this December 31, 2012. Recently, I had secured for him the Music Directorship of the Philly Pops Orchestra at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. We at Columbia Artists will miss him immeasurably and celebrate as do all of you his humanity and great talent. We will treasure his memory and his gifts that he so generously shared with the world.
