König's most impressive work was in Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 ("Pastorale"), which completed the concert. He offered a fresh, sensitive, elegant, and totally unmannered interpretation. Beethoven's full textures were uncommonly well balanced. Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
The German conductor had the BSO delving into Sibelius Seventh with considerable communicative weight, the strings and brass producing a wonderfully dark, rich tone. The music's unbroken arc... was tautly sustained. The Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
