"Nicholas Angelich and the two Capucons play (Brahms Trios) in a way that's sure to kindle anyone's enthusiasm for Brahms. Warm, beautifully balanced tone stresses the composer's romantic side, as does the expansive phrasing. There's a feeling of spontaneity, too, as though each player is discovering new aspects to the music while recording it... the way they are able to strike a balance between Brahms's engergetic flow of ideas, his strongly delineated structures and his lyric intensity is most satisfying." About
Brought together personally by Martha Argerich, the Capuçon-Angelich Trio, one of the most promising ensembles in the world of chamber music today, features the native French duo of violinist Renaud Capuçon and cellist Gautier Capuçon, considered internationally to be two of the world's most gifted young string players, along with the American born award winning pianist Nicholas Angelich.
In February 2008, the Capuçon-Angelich Trio received rave reviews for their first tour of North America, including debuts in San Francisco, New York, Quebec and Montreal . . . . Their second tour of the US in November of 2008 included performances of Haydn, Shostakovich, and Mendelssohn piano trios in Vancouver, Charlottesville, Washington DC and New York. The Capuçon-Angelich Trio's most recent tour in the US in January 2010 included performances in New York and Washington DC, among others.
