The music master of ceremonies was Philippe Entremont, who soloed in Beethoven’s sublime Piano Concerto No. 4 in addition to conducting the Symphony No. 7…(Entremont) brought to the evening a rewarding, warm musicality, both on the podium and at the keyboard…he commanded respect in every bar, not just from his luminous tone, but from his wonderful combination of buoyancy and earnestness. This was serious, wise Beethoven executed by a master with a skip in his step.” - Daniel Schlosberg Newsday
"Entremont's spectacular performance at the keyboard and on the podium proved to an enraptured audience how to play Mozart like an old master, and how to inspire outstanding playing from a scaled-down, revved-up Seattle Symphony...The audience responded with the kind of ovation that bespeaks a fervent hope for this artist's return...may he return for an encore. Several encores, in fact." - Melinda Bargreen The Seattle Times
